Eat what nature provides – fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, and nuts. Limit the consumption of processed foods. If you eat animal foods, prefer dairy products, fish, and poultry. Studies reveal that people who eat this way have a lower risk of heart ailments, diabetes, and cancer.   

Eat a wide variety of whole foods that help you derive health benefits. Add variety to lower the risk of toxic elements in certain foods. Fiber slows the absorption of carbohydrates so they have less effect on insulin. For more fiber, choose whole fruits over juice.   

Home cooked food is healthier but processed foods are industrially formulated mixtures. These lack nutrients and fiber but carry more sugar and sodium.  Saturated fats should be replaced with unsaturated fats to regulate cholesterol level. Try fatty fish for omega 3 polyunsaturated fats. Eat potassium-rich foods to lower blood pressure. Go for citrus fruits, bananas, beans, avocados. Dairy products are the best sources of calcium. In order to be healthy, you need to ensure you eat healthy. Food intake makes it possible to get the best nutrients that your brain and body require to function well. Popping supplements is not the right solution to stay healthy and strong.    Bad eating habits have to be overcome. Eating food is a great joy shared with the family. Cooking food at home also gives satisfaction and happiness. Enjoy what you eat and derive the benefits of good health. When the family eats together, they get all the necessary items at home and such members are less likely to suffer from nutrition-related deficiencies.
